Company Story

Our company Fair Cremation started about ten years ago. At first, we were mainly doing traditional funeral services and repatriation. Then we started to do an increasing number of direct cremations. 


Jump forward to 2020, during the pandemic with all the lockdown rules, there were restrictions on attending cremations and funerals. At one point nearly every cremation was direct. 


We soon realised that direct cremation was an option that was affordable for people during a time of rising living costs. Also, an increasing number of people were choosing direct cremation because they preferred the simplicity of it. There was no need to arrange all the other factors that a normal funeral involves. Plus, they could then hold a quiet family memorial following the direct cremation. 


All in all, direct cremation has become more and more popular across the UK in the last ten years. We are proud to be serving so many families across Yorkshire, other parts of England and Wales.

Core Values

We are an independent family run funeral business that provides an excellent level of service you don't always get with the large corporate funeral chains. We do everything ourselves in-house and nothing is through a third party.  We pride ourselves on being professional, kind and courteous to all of our families.

Our esteemed director has decades of experience in the funeral business, supporting Yorkshire families to the best of his ability. Working with repatriations across the world, Tom understands the importance of tradition and has worked with different cultures and communities to provide compassionate and appropriate funeral care.
